Victoria’s love of sharing other people’s stories has resulted in a writing and editing career spanning more than 25 years. Her chief ambition as a writer has always been to engage and inspire readers.
Victoria has interviewed local and nationally known individuals. From farmers to filmmakers, it has been her privilege to showcase their achievements and describe the inspiration, sacrifices, and rewards that led them to approach their life’s work with a sense of pride, dedication, and fulfillment.
In 1993, Victoria graduated magna cum laude from Georgia State University in Atlanta with a bachelor’s in English. She returned in 2001 to earn her master’s in communication. While studying at GSU, she served as associate features editor and staff writer for the SIGNAL, the university’s student newspaper. She also worked as a staff writer, editor, and columnist for the Morgan County Citizen. Other publications in which her articles have appeared include Georgia Connector magazine, INsite Magazine, Renegade Biker magazine (now Renegade magazine), FREE INQUIRY magazine, and Georgia Magazine.
Victoria embarked on an enduring working relationship with Georgia Magazine when she was hired as an editorial intern in 1996. Following her internship, she worked for the magazine as a contract editor and writer. She eventually joined the staff as an assistant editor and later became an associate editor. Her article, “For those who fought,” a story about local Civil War re-enactors, which appeared in Georgia Magazine’s May 2000 issue, won the National Council on Rural Electric Communicators 2001 Silver Award for Best Feature.
Victoria retired from Georgia Magazine in 2015 as senior associate editor but continues accepting assignments as a freelance writer.
Born in Stamford, Connecticut, Victoria mostly grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida. She now lives near Atlanta. When she isn’t writing, she fills her time playing tennis, building flower beds, or getting together with family and friends. She especially enjoys any event or activity that involves her grandchildren.
Victoria recently published a chapbook titled COMES THE SUN: A Poetry Collection, which can be found on Amazon.com. She is also working on a larger book that comprises a collection of essays on religion, freethought, skepticism, and secular values. She hopes to complete it by late 2023/early 2024.
